SEMTECH-D: A Globe Trotting Veteran
The SEMTECH-D unit shown here just celebrated its 7th birthday in February, marking another milestone in this well-seasoned veteran's life. This SEMTECH-D has had jobs in China, Kazakhastan, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Turkey, India and the US. After a quick stop at Sensors' service department, it is booked for more work in Colombia, Argentina and then back to Chile again.
This SEMTECH-D works for ISSRC, a nonprofit California corporation that is committed to identifying approaches and technologies to support environmentally sustainable economic growth. The company works with developing countries in Central and East Asia, Africa and North and South America to build capacity and to meet sustainability goals. In this light, the SEMTECH-D is used to measure vehicle emissions and their impact on the environment in these countries.

Clarkson Grabs 1st Place in CSC2012
Clarkson University of Potsdam, NY took first place overall in the 2012 SAE Clean Snowmobile Challenge, while North Dakota State University grabbed Sensors' Award for Lowest In-Service Emissions. This marked the 10th year that Michigan Technological University hosted the event, which took place at the Keweenaw Research Center in Michigan's Upper Peninsula on March 5-10. Mother Nature pitched in this year, providing the best snow that the event has seen in many years. Twelve teams entered sleds in the internal combustion engine category, with an additional six teams entering in the zero emissions category.
Sensors, Inc. is proud to be a Gold Sponsor for this collegiate design competition, where students are tasked with reducing noise and emissions from stock snowmobiles, without negatively impacting performance and handling. Participants apply what they've learned in the classroom to the real-world and are judged in 17 categories to determine the overall winner. Visit the link below for photos from this year's competition, and to learn more about this annual contest.
