The SEMTECH® LDV is a rugged, compact, gaseous analyzer. It has been optimized for flexibility, safety, ease-of-use, and low cost of ownership, while providing highly accurate real-world emissions data. The scalable architecture accommodates additional analyzers, accessories, and upgrades in anticipation of changing needs. The base LDV is comprised of gas analyzer system (or GAS), a sample control system (or SCS), and an exhaust flow meter (or EFM4).

The base SEMTECH® LDV is comprised of three main modules, SEMTECH® GAS, SEMTECH® SCS, and EFM4. SEMTECH® GAS houses the analytical devices for the gaseous measurements of CO, CO2, NO, and NO2. All electronics, including a web-based server, together with the sample handling elements and power distribution are accommodated in the SCS, which also serves as the platform for expanding the system to include other measurement capability, e.g. total hydrocarbon and methane measurements. The final piece to the system is the EFM4 which employs the traditional averaging pitot measurement technique used in previous generations of SEMTECH® flow measurement devices, the EFM-HS and HTF. All key functional subsystems may be fully integrated, eliminating the need for troublesome communication and power cable connections, heated and pneumatic lines.
SEMTECH® LDV Base Modules
Several add-on modules can be used with the base SEMTECH® LDV system to add to its measurement capabilities. The SEMTECH® Continuous Particle Number (CPN) module continuously measures condensation particle number in real-time. The SEMTECH® Particulate Mass (PM2) is a 2nd generation on-board particulate mass measurement device that combines real-time and cumulative PM measurements. The SEMTECH® Flame Ionization Detector (FID) measures total hydrocarbons (THC) using a vacuum flame ionization detection method. The SEMTECH® Dual FID simultaneously measures THC and methane (CH4).
